I’m going to do something a little different for the next 2 weeks as a thank you to all of my Substack subscribers in appreciation for all of your support the last 2 years. I will be sharing a brand new novel with you that isn’t even published yet. It’s a 1940’s detective novel! Please enjoy and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you.

Chapter 1

His name was Britt Harker and he followed his normal Saturday night ritual, which was to go for a walk downtown around the theater district and wait for the movies to let out.  That way he had his pick of which flic to see, and at that point in the evening, he’d have his own choice of which last showing to choose from.  This Saturday night in the Spring of 1941 was no different.

But as the Private Investigator made his way past the open donut shop, a large hand, the size of a love seat, clamped down on his right shoulder, stopping him dead in his tracks.  Now normally, Harker didn’t go in for that personal affront kind of business, but he was the curious type, so…

…he turned to see what the rest of the living room furniture looked like.

After he had slowly spun around, he saw that the figure with the large hand was at least a good foot higher than his own six-foot tall length.  And if anyone disagreed with him, they’d need a long tape measure and a pretty tall step-ladder to prove that this fella wasn’t.
