#650-Gerry Conway, Marvel/DC Comics Author, Dies
It was reported last week that Gerry Conway, scribe for both Marvel and DC Comics, died at the age of 73.
But starting at the age of 16, Gerry made inroads and by 19, already had two books published in the sci-fi field (‘Mindship’ and ‘The Midnight Dancers.”). That’s when he moved into comics, writing up spooky tales for DC’s ‘House of Secrets,’ and over at Marvel, ‘Tower of Shadows.’
His real dream though, was to write super-hero comics and went over to Marvel, where he co-created and wrote, ‘Man Thing,’ ‘Werewolf by Night,’ and scripted the first issue of ‘Tomb of Dracula,’ Before scribe Marv Wolfman took over the comic and made it into his Magnum Opus!
